Jorge has been project manager for several large projects in Go On Software, for example Dental Forum. If there is time enough he will also spend time at his old hobby - programming. He is an engineer from the Universidad ORT in Montevideo.
What should be done to have good control of the projects?
At Go On Software, we are a dynamic group that can adapt to conditions. As methodology we use Scrum. This means that we divide the project into small tasks. This is followed up on a daily basis. Especially important for me is to consider that the developers do not spend too much time on tasks that are not important.
We have also staff entirley dedicated to test tasks. An IT system is complex and the chance that bugs in one degree or another occurs is large. An extensive test is a good investment of ressources.
Why did you start studing IT?
Ever since I saw the Commodore 64, I became interested in the IT industry. I was very interested in understanding how everything was put together. There was a lot of self-study and eventually I started at university. IT country, Uruguay is also an attractive country for IT consultants, and there is a strong demand for professionals. There was also a solid reason.
